Ensure Employment for Domestic Musicians Post-Production!

Despite the fact that New Jersey-based film studios employ mostly domestic workers, most are outsourcing musical score production to foreign musicians, many of them in the UK and Eastern European countries, bypassing domestic talent-including thousands of New Jersey-based musicians.

It’s time for a fix, and the fix is easy. S. 4392 and A. 4382 amend the Garden State Film and Digital Media Jobs Act to end the outsourcing of post – production musical work overseas while taking NJ tax dollars – ensuring that our home-grown musicians – not foreign musicians across the Atlantic – have fair access to the employment.
